Starcraft II Military Tactical iPad App
This is the SoldierEyes map, a tactical application for iPad that shows friends and foes’ real time positions in the battlefield. It isn’t a game, even while it looks like an RTS, similar to Raytheon’s Advanced Tactical System

Blizzard sues StarCraft II Hackers

We knew that Blizzard wasn’t too keen on the various StarCraft II hacks and cheats that are out there, but I, for one, did not expect courtroom drama. But here we are! Yup, word on the street is that Blizzard is suing the developers of at least three StarCraft II hacks for—wait for it—“destroying” the game. Goodness gracious~!

StarCraft II Single Players also gets banned by Blizzard
Last month Blizzard warned StarCraft II players that if someone is
found to be cheating or using hacks or modifications in any form,
then as outlined in their end user license agreement, that player
could be permanently banned from the game. This means that the
player will be permanently unable to log in to Battle.net to play
StarCraft II with his or her account. What you may not know is that this will even affect single players!
The reason is that the single player also affects the users
Battle.net profile.

By cheating you could end up being temporary or permanently banned
from the game you have purchased. So if you’re using hacks or modifications because you are spending
many frustrating hours losing game after game, there is only one
solution to your problems, Shokz Starcraft 2 Guide.

Found this very interesting news about the next release of StarCraft 2 :

Blizzard’s Battle.net project director, Greg Canessa, was quoted at GDC Online suggesting an early 2012 release window for sequel-spansion StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm. GameSpot caught the quote during a panel, in which Canessa responded to future Battle.net upgrades by saying they are “a main area of focus we’re going to be seeing on the Starcraft side over the next 18 months between now and Heart of the Swarm.” However, a Blizzard representative told Joystiq “We have not announced a release date or window for Heart of the Swarm.”

Blizzard bans over 5,000 StarCraft II players

Last month Blizzard warned StarCraft II players that if they cheated it would have no qualms in bringing down the ban hammer.

Here’s the warning as issued by Blizzard:

If a StarCraft II player is found to be cheating or using hacks or modifications in any form, then as outlined in our end user license agreement, that player can be permanently banned from the game. This means that the player will be permanently unable to log in to Battle.net to play StarCraft II with his or her account.Blizzard has now delivered on that promise and banned more than 5,000 players for violating the terms of the Battle.net license agreement. Posting on the Battle.net blog the company explained:

In addition to undermining the spirit of fair competition that’s essential to play on Battle.net, cheating and hacking can lead to stability and performance issues with the service. Maintaining a stable, safe, and secure online-gaming experience for legitimate players is a top priority for us, and we’ll be continuing to keep watch on Battle.net and take action as needed. So there you have it, Blizzard will ban you, so don’t try to fiddle the system if you enjoy playing StarCraft II. We don’t believe this will be the last time thousands of players get banned, though.
